I use this “creep feeder” to meet the higher protein needs of growing chickens. The spacing of the slats in the doors allows access by the young birds, while excluding adults. I put feeds such as soured milk, Japanese beetles, or earthworms from the vermicomposting bins inside the creep feeder shelter.
