Chard

Chard (or "Swiss chard") is botanically simply another beet (Beta vulgaris), but one bred for its beautiful tops which make a "nice mess of greens," instead of a bulbous root. Note also the lacy foliage of yarrow on the left. Numerous patches of yarrow throughout the greenhouse seem to have boosted the lady beetle population and greatly reduced aphid opportunists in the late winter, early spring.
