Another view of our established orchard (apples, pears, plums, mulberry, cherry) beginning its transition to forest garden. An over-winter “kill mulch” (a heavy layer of organic materials over cardboard and/or newspaper) is preparing the ground for the new plantings, indicated here by the potted hazel nuts, gooseberries, and bush cherries, which will be planted between the existing larger fruit trees.
